“How Unusual” appeared in Nickelodeon Magazine in 1993. It was meant as an expansion of my Zuzu strip, “It’s Fortean,” but turned out to be a one-shot.

This alphabet was devoted to interjections. ah boo caw duh eek feh gulp hey ick jeez kachoo la mmm nah oops pshaw quack rah sh tsk uh vroom whoa x!@*%! yikes zzz Here are some samples. “Zzz,” by the way, was based on a photo of me taken the day I was born.

The comic strip “It’s Fortean” ran in the children’s paper Zuzu from 1992 to 1995. The editor was Beck Underwood; it was her idea. Some of them were also reprinted in the INFO Journal. Here are a few samples.

In the ’90s, John Keel reprinted some of his article as booklets, under the rubric of the New York Fortean Society. This one was taken from a piece he wrote for the Journal of Popular Culture; I provided the cover illustration. John was particularly insistent that there be someone in a straitjacket.
