In the ’90s, John Keel reprinted some of his article as booklets, under the rubric of the New York Fortean Society. This one was taken from a piece he wrote for the Journal of Popular Culture; I provided the cover illustration. John was particularly insistent that there be someone in a straitjacket.

I have a nice old-fashioned monochord that I often use to teach music theory. Contemplation of the relationship between number and pitch led me to write this little piece, based on the primes between 1 and 100. It’s delightfully grating.
