Doug, I first heard “The Marionette” when “The Regard of Flight” aired on PBS almost 30 years ago, when I was just 13. Back then I watched and listened to “The Marionette” so many times that my VHS recording wore out. These days a recording of that performance is a mainstay on my iPhone, and the piece remains one of the most beautiful, gentle, and moving things I have ever heard. Thank you so much for thus sublime two-minute creation, a truly wonderful gift that I have enjoyed my entire lifetime.
